Ryan Pauly is the Founder and President of Think Well, the Director of Immersive Experiences at MAVEN, and an Adjunct Professor of Theology and Apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. For over a decade, he has worked with junior high, high school, and college students as a missionary, educator, speaker, and apologist.

After graduating from college, Ryan served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic, where he spent four years teaching English, Worldview, Apologetics, and Leadership to middle and high school students. In 2015, he returned to Southern California and began teaching courses such as Historical Christian Doctrine and Apologetics, Comparative Religions and Worldviews, and Philosophy of Ethics at a Christian high school. He taught full-time for 12 years before stepping away in 2023 to focus more fully on his work with Think Well and MAVEN.

Ryan began his work in apologetics in 2015 with the launch of his blog, Coffeehouse Questions. This opened the door to new platforms—starting a podcast in 2016, a YouTube channel in 2018, and officially launching Think Well in June 2022. He joined MAVEN as a Field Guide in 2017 and was promoted to Director of Immersive Experiences in 2023. In 2025, Ryan became an Adjunct Professor of Theology and Apologetics at Biola University. He also serves on faculty at Summit Ministries, is part of the scholar community at Reasons to Believe, and volunteers with TalkAboutDoubts.com.

Ryan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Theology with an emphasis in Youth Leadership from Vanguard University. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Talbot School of Theology and is currently a doctoral candidate in Practical Theology. His research focuses on what Scripture teaches about some of the most pressing cultural issues of our time, including gender and sexuality, race, technology, politics, deconstruction, applied ethics, and more. He also holds a certificate in Science Apologetics from the Reasons Institute.

His writing has been featured at crossexamined.org, seanmcdowell.orgapologetics.com, and josh.org. He contributed to the updated version of the popular Apologetics Study Bible for Students and the soon to be published book, Stewarding AI: Faithfully Using Creation Resources. Along with his writing, Ryan has appeared as a guest on various radio programs, podcasts, and YouTube channels.
