My goal is to help you confidently respond to a wide range of issues related to apologetics, culture, and worldview. To do that, we will have a rotating virtual book study on YouTube through three different series. We will hit each series once a month. Check out the topics, grab a book, and read along with me!

Culture

We are faced with a wide range of cultural challenges, and I often have people ask me, “What do I say when…?” This is why I was drawn to this book. It provides a thoughtful response to a wide range of issues so that you know what to say when you are faced with this question. The topics include:

1. Human Dignity
2. Abortion
3. Sexuality
4. Gender – Postponed, Interview with Abigail Favale, author of The Genesis of Gender
5. Homosexuality
6. Identity
7. Transgenderism
8. Technology
9. Political Engagement
10. Hostility and Persecution – TBD

Each chapter is only about 10-15 pages and will give you a biblical teaching, a memory verse, and conversation starters.

Worldview

Crossway produced a 15-book series on Reclaiming the Christian Intellectual Tradition. This is a little bit more reading each month as each book is about 80-100 pages. My goal is that this helps you develop a robust Christian worldview and see how Christian thought has impacted many areas of culture.

1. Ethics and Moral Reasoning
2. The Great Tradition of Christian Thinking
3. Biblical and Theological Studies
4. Philosophy
5. Christian Worldview
6. Media, Journalism, and Communication
7. Psychology
8. Political Thought
9. Literature – TBD
10. Economics – TBD
11. Education – TBD
12. Art and Music – TBD
13. History – TBD
14. Natural Sciences – TBD
15. The Liberal Arts – TBD

Apologetics

“Why There Is No God” pushes back against the 20 most common arguments for God. In response, The Blackwell Companion to Natural Theology builds a powerful case for the existence of God from the 10 top arguments from natural theology. Natural theology looks at the evidence for God based on human reason and evidence from the natural world. These arguments include:

Introduction: The Project of Natural Theology
1. Leibnizian Cosmological Argument – Postponed
2. Kalam Cosmological Argument – Part 1, Part 2
3. Teleological Argument – Postponed
4. Argument from Consciousness – Postponed
5. Argument from Reason – Postponed
6. Moral Argument – Postponed
7. Argument from Evil – Postponed
8. Argument from Religious Experience – Postponed
9. Ontological Argument – Postponed
10. Argument from Miracles – Postponed

This book is written at a graduate school level and is the most difficult read of the three. So, I will be inviting each contributing author to join the show to explain the argument and respond to objections. My hope is that you will not only grow in your confidence in God’s existence but that you will have the tools to show others why there are good reasons to believe in God.
