How should Christians respond to a friend or family member who identifies as a homosexual? This could be difficult if we are caught off guard and haven’t about a response before. We might want to use a Christian cliché like “God hates the sin but loves the sinner,” but that could actually hurt our conversation. What about someone who identifies as transgender? Is gender just a social construction? What is the truth behind gender confusion?
Listen as Alan Shlemon, speaker at Stand to Reason, joins me for part 2 of our discussion on responding with truth and compassion.
Did you want to review some of the points Alan made in our discussion? Check out his article “Transgender: Truth and Compassion” at STR.org or get your own copy of A New Kind of Apologist by Dr. Sean McDowell.
